Jon Devine conducts and supervises a comprehensive range of economic research pertaining to the global cotton supply chain. Devine plays an integral part in the company’s role as educator to the cotton industry by keeping key stakeholders in the textile and investment communities informed via timely market analyses. Commodity economics and factors influencing their stability are at the heart of Devine’s role in the Corporate Strategy and Insights Division of
Cotton Incorporated. His analyses are published in the company’s Monthly Economic Letter and Executive Letter, presented at industry conferences and one-on-one meetings, through webinars and other media channels. Devine is also instrumental in generating industry analyses of the various links on the cotton supply chain, and contributes to the division’s examinations of, and reporting on, consumer and retail trends relevant to cotton textile and apparel sectors. Devine received a Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and Environmental Studies from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and holds dual Masters of Science degrees in Resource Economics and Policy, and Spatial Information Science and Engineering from the University of Maine.
