The SAKURA COLLECTION Fashion Design Award has been held since 2012 with the aim of connecting Japanese textiles and young fashion designers from all over the world. The theme textiles for this 37th edition are "Natsu-Shiozawa" silk fabric by Yamada-Ori, a 110-year-old textile company, and "One-o-Five" upcycled denim by Yamasawa Press Co. Nearly 200 designs inspired by these textiles were submitted from 28 countries. The 10 designers who passed the first round of selection will present their creations at this fashion show. The judges will select the winner, who will receive a round-trip ticket to Japan.
